These celebrations occurred for four years until we realized our little guy didn't care much for parties and wouldn't, then couldn't, eat cake - bummer for a mommy who likes to make cake. So, for the past two years we have done what he likes - carnivals with lots of rides!
But, this year was a little different. After watching his little brother enjoy his birthday and all of the attention that came with it, little boy #1 was excited for his turn. We invited the motorcycle ministry that he and his daddy are a part of over to celebrate him turning 8 and to say good-bye to the awesome group that has meant so much to us. He still can't eat the cake (food allergies), but he felt special. I love the small victories!
