Tastē Tuesday~ Two weeks ago was not only little boy #2's birthday, it was also our hometown carnival. Last year, I entered my first Bake-off Contest and enjoyed it, so I planned on it again this year. I wasn't thrilled that it landed on the same day because that meant I had two cakes to make. However, I chose a chocolate cake since that is what the birthday boy wanted and managed to have both done by Saturday morning.
The cake won won third place, and unfortunately between little league games and birthday parties I didn't ever see any of the competition. My hubby and I actually thought it was tastier than last year's first place entry, and I had to freeze the last big slice so as to not do too much damage to our waistlines.
The cake is chocolate with a peanut butter butter cream filling/frosting and Reese's peanut butter cup garnish - definitely a delight for chocolate peanut butter lovers!!
