I can always do better in the joy department, though 2015 is full of memories of pure bliss as I watched #1 grow, improve in speech, and maintain his loving and tender personality, #2 become so much more independent and saying all of those cute and precious things innocent, little people say, #3 bringing me countless smiles even in the wee hours of the morning and being adored by his older two brothers, and finishing a year full of stress and upheaval hand-in-hand with my true north. Joy is not dependent on our circumstances but our attitude and in whom we place our faith. As far as flexibility, I am pretty happy with how I, and the family, rolled with the punches 2015 sent our way. On to 2016...
Christmas this year brought a new toy for #2, a skateboard. Having an awesome daddy who wants to spend time with him, my husband also got a skateboard with Christmas money. He is brave to try a new hobby such as skateboarding at our age! I also was utterly impressed last week as I watched #2 hand select some sushi from the grocery store, come home, whip out his chop sticks, and proceed to eat sushi for dinner. These recent events made me think that even if we don't have any huge life-changing events in the following year, we always can try something new...a good challenge in and of itself. So, as 2016 begins, I challenge myself...and you to pick at least one new thing, activity, food, commitment, etc. to try before 31 December 2016. Once I decide what my challenge is, I'll let you know. If you have something particularly fascinating or intriguing, I can't wait to hear about it. In case you look at the pictures below and want to tell me that I'm in for it as #2 gets older...I already know :)!
Best wishes for a happy and healthy 2016.
