Moving moments~ Our big cross-country adventure has been going great. As far as moving from coast to coast with a two month old, 3 & 8 year old energetic boys, and 1 old dog goes, I could not ask for a better move. I have truly seen God's blessings throughout each day.
One in particular was walking into little boy number one's wide open arms throughout the day the packers were boxing up all of our possessions.
If you have ever tried to move...or merely clean your living room...you know children underfoot equals the almost instantaneous undoing of whatever you are trying to accomplish. So, I had seriously considered farming the older two children out to friends for the day. Deciding that they might enjoy watching the packers and desiring them to be a part of the move, the hubby and I kept them home with back-up childcare plans in case their orneriness overtook them.
Instead of being a burden, little boy #1 was a blessing throughout the day. Whenever the stress started to elevate, I would turn around and he would be standing there with arms wide open and a sweet little grin. I think he needed frequent reassurance amidst the chaos. But his need was my blessing and a constant reminder to keep perspective. One of the things I thought would be most burdensome during that day was actually my saving grace...isn't that true of so many things in our lives?!
In the midst of a stressful week, there was that sunshine peeking!
I didn't want to spoil the moment trying to capture it with my camera, but I did have a picture of that smile from two days before!
